  • TCD 3000 is a gas analyzer with the build-in TCD 3000 GC detector. The measuring principle takes advantage of the fact that the thermal conductivity of a gas mixture depends on the concentration of the individual components. Using this technique, (quasi) binary gas mixtures can be analyzed precisely. In this product all the advantages of our TCD 300 GC OEM are packed in a ready-to-use gas analyzer. Its compact size allows easy integration, and its plug-and-play style makes it quickly ready to use. Further customization is possible through many additional options. The device runs with IP67 protection class.
  • The unit is completely equipped with metal-to-metal connections, so that a high degree of tightness and pressure resistance over 200 bars can be guaranteed.
  • The sensor has corrosion and humidity protection.
  • This gas analyzer is an ideal solution for analyzing the concentration and purity of hydrogen or helium. About function:

The measuring principle is based on thermal conductivity. Gas mixtures differ in their thermal conductivity dependent on their compositions. Different values for analyte and carrier gas ensure high measurement accuracy where even smallest amounts of gas can be determined precisely.

About calibration:

The calibration should be performed according to the following criteria:

  • After bringing your device into service
  • When the measurement characteristics changes, such as pressure, temperature of gas flow
  • At regular intervals, depending on the desired precision
  • Once in a few month for Vol.% accuracy
  • Once in a few days or weeks for sub-Vol.% accuracy
  • Right before measurement if highest accuracy is desired

We recommend a calibration with pure gas or bottle gas. To initiate, apply pure gas or bottled gas to the device and wait until the concentration is stable. The calibration process can be started via the keys on the front of the analyzer or via RS-485 command and takes  approximately 10 seconds.

About Pneumatic Connection

The pneumatic connections of TCD3000 are bidirectional. 
The units are delivered with fittings for 6 mm pipes. The metal-sealing fittings can be mounted radially. This makes the device very easy to mount and dismount. 
Flow range is designed for 10 l/h—120 l/h.

The following options are available on request: 
Reduction of pipe diameter, 
larger/smaller flow range, 
larger pressure range

For installation, use dimensionally accurate, cleanly cut and deburred tubes with a smooth surface. The fitting needs a straight pipe end of at least 1.5 x d. 
Insert the tube as far as possible into the fitting. 
Screw fitting nut on by hand as far as it will go. 
Tighten the fitting nut with an open-end wrench by approx. 1¾ turns. The tube must be pressed against the main part.

About operation

The thermal conductivity analyzer needs pneumatic connection to sample gas.

Further, it is designed for wall mounting.

The analyzer has cables with open ends, a connection to a 24 V source is necessary for operation. A 4—20 mA output, relays and RS-232 can be connected as required.
